Not a lot of the films out now have been floating my boat as of late, both The Kingdom and Rendition didn’t really exceed any expectations I had so I wasn’t going to start getting excited about Michael Moore’s latest flag burning addition to his box set!
The film Sicko (great title by the way) basically has a pop at America’s health care system where if your not insured you dont get health care blah blah blah and without having to go go too deeply into the “plot”, wouldn’t want to ruin it for you! But needless to say Michael and his camera crew wander into middle america to find all the worst heartstring stories about uncle guber was denied a bone marrow transplant because he didn’t sign his surname on the insurance document etc.
In true formula of the Michael Mooresque films he goes North to his country cousins in Canada to reveal how great they are getting on with low gun crime and being able to go to hospital without it costing them an arm and a leg (phwa phwa – had to). Then he globe trots and really sees how bad America have it!
Strangely enough Moore gives out about a doctor in France who seems to be very anti-American but i think this whole film (while it brings welcome attention to the fact that America have gotten something wrong along the way and it is shocking and terrible) is also very anti-American!
My opinion: Does anyone actually care? – Save your 9 bucks on this one and go wait in an A&E waiting room for the hour and half you could’ve been watching this one…
My Rating!

What has now become the regular Sunday night is to be completely within inches of death from the night before and to veg on front of the mindless programes they have on telly on your average Sunday night. But along came MTV with their cute mindless model lookalike teenager programmes ALL back to back for pure uninterupted blatant blagging of mis spent fortune on talentless little shites – BUT I LOVE IT!
The programmes I refer to are (in no order of preference);
Newport Harbour (the New Laguna Beach)
The Hills
Living on the Edge
As surprised as I am to say it i find myself drawn to watching all of the above, granted Newport Harbour and The Hils are pretty much rehashes and spin offs of Laguna Beach , the programme MTV kick started all this rich-bitch themed fly on the wall show.
They all prance around looking amazingly hot (even though it is a show full of jail-bait!) and in their pricey BMW’s blowing their parents cash and it just makes compelling viewing!
Kick off starts from 8.00pm on Sunday nights, so be sure to have your prescribed fill of booze the previous night as you will not need a brain for these ones….

I have tried for 10 minutes to use the Jedi mind trick of making her go anti clockwise but alas the force is not with me. So i am mostly fantasy based with a hint of risk taker…like standing on a motorway overpass rail like a right rope with a superman cape! hmmm
THE Right Brain vs Left Brain test … do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?
If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.
Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.
LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS uses logic detail oriented facts rule words and language present and past math and science can comprehend knowing acknowledges order/pattern perception knows object name reality based forms strategies practical safe
RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS uses feeling “big picture” oriented imagination rules symbols and images present and future philosophy & religion can “get it” (i.e. meaning) believes appreciates spatial perception knows object function fantasy based presents possibilities impetuous risk taking
